She married Cleo McCoy, her high school sweetheart, on September 30, 1943 and they recently celebrated 68 years of marriage. After 12 years of marriage, Cleo and Betty were blessed with two daughters, Robyn and Lorna, born exactly 11 months apart and then six years later a son, Craig.

Betty loved living on the family farm between Crawfordsville and Washington and then later in life, Cleo and Betty retired from farming and wintered 16 years in the Arizona sun as Snowbirds. Among the many hobbies Betty enjoyed was growing big family gardens to feed family and friends during their many get-togethers, her long-time membership in the local farming organization called Braden Club, and her status as an Ace Bridge player in Washington and Arizona.

She is survived by her loving husband, Cleo McCoy of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Robyn Lamb and husband Bob of Mt. Carroll, Illinois; daughter, Lorna Wind and husband Tim of Kansas City, Kansas; son Craig "Buzz" McCoy and wife Karen of Crawfordsville, Iowa; three grandsons, Matt Lamb and wife Jessica of Mt. Morris, Illinois; Marty Lamb of Iowa City, Iowa; Air Force Lieutenant Jordan Wind of Kansas City, Kansas; and one brother, Robert Lowe of Brea, California.
