Eduardo "Large Ed" Gutierrez, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Eduardo "Large Ed" Gutierrez, 73, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, went to be with Our Lord on Sunday, February 12, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Cecilia Gutierrez; daughters, Anna Louise Garcia and husband, Louie, and Kristina Maria Gutierrez Barela and husband, Frank; granddaughters, Desirae N. Garcia, Monica L. Garcia, and Alicia E. Barela; grandson, Frank Leandro Eduardo Barela III; sister, Mary Gutierrez; brothers, Candelario Gutierrez, Carlos Gutierrez, and Robert Gutierrez; nephew and godson, Victor Rios; and a large, extended family. Mr. Gutierrez served in the United States Air Force. He went on to proudly serve with the Albuquerque Fire Department from 1962-1986 where he retired as a Driver. After his retirement, he worked for A.P.S. as a Custodian at E.G. Ross Elementary School where he was blessed with very fond memories. A rosary will be recited Thursday, February 16, 2012, at 7:00 pm at French - University. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 17, 2012, at 10:00 am at St. Therese of the Little Flower Catholic Church, 300 Mildred Ave NW. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gilbert Roybal, George Sanchez, Gene Torres, Christopher Wright, Mike Gonzales, and Raymond Cipriano. Mr. Gutierrez's family would like to thank the staff at North Albuquerque Dialysis Center and Presbyterian Heart Group for all their care.
