The WSU Lightweight Women?s Crew team is hosting this year?s Halloween 5k run around campus. The race is called, ?Run for Your Life?, but takes on a Halloween and fun theme each year. Everyone is welcome to participate around the Pullman community.? All the proceeds made will be used to help out the WSU Lightweight Women?s Crew Team.?
Participants do not necessarily have to run the race, they can choose to walk or jog as they please.? Whether you are a runner, jogger or walker, Halloween costumes are highly encouraged.? This is the 3rd annual 5k run that has been held by the Cougar Crew team.?
The run will start and stop at the WSU tennis courts.? Intramural supervisors along with the crew team themselves will be out on the course directing runners in the right direction.? Also, participants who signed up early will receive a t-shirt.?
Last year I personally assisted with the 5k run and it was a pretty good turnout.? I helped direct runners to the next location and all the runners were extremely friendly and supportive of one another.? I remember some participants were just happy to be out jogging and to finish the race. It was a personal satisfaction for them in their life.
With the ?Run for Your Life? being held only a couple days before Halloween, I am excited to see the runners who decide to dress up for the Halloween run.?
