LOS ANGELES ? Several hundred lucky members of the WWE Universe watched a special sneak peek screening of WWE Studios? ?The Day? on the eve of SummerSlam! (PHOTOS | WATCH TRAILER)
WWE Studios film stars Randy Orton (?12 Rounds: Reloaded,? ?That?s What I Am?) and David Otunga (?The Hive?) introduced the film at Regal Cinemas at LA Live before hundreds of WWE fans and eager film buffs Saturday night.
"WWE loves action and we know the WWE Universe loves action, too. So that's why we picked up 'The Day,'" The Viper told the excited crowd.
"I actually saw it, and this movie is awesome!" Otunga said.
After the moviegoers were sufficiently thrilled and chilled by the action/horror flick chronicling 24 hours in the lives of survivors trying to stay alive in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, ?The Marine: Homefront? star The Miz hosted a question and answer session. Several stars of ?The Day," including Dominic Monaghan, Ashley Bell and Michael Eklund, plus director Doug Aarniokoski, spoke candidly with the WWE Universe about the movie.
Several moviegoers said they want to see more movies like "The Day." Aarniokoski and the actors hinted that they should not to rule it out.
"I would love to come back for a sequel or prequel," Bell said. "Please write. Get a petition going, you guys!"
When The Miz informally polled the audience to see which they'd rather see - a prequel or sequel, there were so many cheers for each, it was a tie.
"Well, I guess they want both," The Miz said. "And I wouldn't mind being in it myself!"
