Dale Munroe II, a former registration employee at Florida Hospital Celebration, was sentenced to a year and a day in federal prison for stealing patient identity information.
He pleaded guilty to obtaining individually identifiable information of emergency room patients in motor vehicle accidents from January 2009 until July 2011 and selling it to co-conspirators who solicited patients for chiropractic and legal services, according to court records.
Munroe accessed more than 763,000 patient records including some from other Florida Hospital locations. About 12,000 records of patients in accidents were illegally accessed.
